Berries Health and Genetics Diagnostics Laboratory accepts medical insurance for physician-prescribed diagnostic tests. We accept PPO plans from Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Cigna. We also accept Medicare.
Berries Health & Genetics
Berries Health & Genetics is a genetics lab proficiently equipped to conduct pharmacogenetics and support diagnostic genetics, one of its kind in the Northwest United States. We utilize state-of-the-art technology and are owned and operated by Dr. Ali Hosseini, a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and a medical molecular geneticist. We offer not only testing but also genetic counseling. Our professional geneticists are available to doctors and healthcare providers to answer questions and provide assistance whenever needed.
All samples will undergo analysis at the clinical whole exome sequencing level.
Each sample will be tested for a specific panel as ordered by your provider.
If your provider opts in, we will expand the analysis to include whole exome sequencing and further analyze your sample using a comprehensive overview of your phenotype.
To support your pre-authorization application for insurance submission, we offer genetic counseling services at no charge. These services are provided by a certified genetic counselor in collaboration with your provider.
Why Pharmacogenetics

Sample Collection
Genetic testing has become more accessible than ever. Now, we can collect a sample for genetic analysis with a simple swab from inside the mouth to test an individual’s entire genetic profile, applicable to both adults and children. One of the major advantages of genetic testing is that it only needs to be done once. Since our genetic makeup does not change, the results are valid for a lifetime, providing lasting insights as we carry the same genes throughout our lives. Importantly, Berries Health & Genetics does not retain or store any DNA samples post-analysis, and the results of the test are delivered exclusively to individuals specified by the patient on the consent form.
