Dr. Ali Hosseini MD, PhD, FACMG, ABB(HCLD) is a distinguished professional in the field of clinical molecular genetics, holding dual certifications from the American Board of Medical Genetics & Genomics and the American Board of Bioanalysis (HCLD). As the visionary founder of Berries Health and Genetics, he brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the forefront of healthcare and genomics. His vision is supported by the staff of highly skilled scientists, physicians, pharmacists, business development professionals, and of course, by loyal customers.
Prior to his entrepreneurial venture, Dr. Hosseini served as the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Director at Invitae-Pharmacogen laboratory, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the understanding of personalized medicine. His leadership extended to Resolution Bioscience, where he served as Director of the Clinical Laboratory and Clinical Affairs, specializing in liquid biopsy-cancer. Notably, he directed clinical and medical operations at Claritas Genomics, a spin-off from Boston Children’s Hospital, focusing on inherited rare genetic disorders. During his tenure, he actively participated in training clinical molecular genetics and molecular pathology fellows in whole-exome sequencing.
Dr. Hosseini’s dedication to advancing medical knowledge is underscored by his involvement in numerous clinical trials, spanning RUO, Phase 1, 2, and 3 studies, as well as PMA and 510K assays in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies. His profound understanding of GXP regulations is reflected in his role in training laboratory staff for Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP). Notably, he is a respected member of CPIC (Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium) and ClinGen, showcasing his commitment to staying at the forefront of genetic advancements.
Educated at the University of Miami and Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School), Dr. Hosseini completed his clinical molecular genetics training. His medical journey began with an MD from Iran, followed by a post-doctoral focus on cancer genetics at Ohio State University. Fluent in both Farsi and English, Dr. Hosseini’s multicultural proficiency enriches his ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
